About the event

This individual speaking event centered on lived experience, recovery, and the role of nervous system regulation in long term well being. Drawing from personal recovery, community work, and years of facilitating resilience based trainings, the session invited participants into an honest conversation about stress, trauma, identity, and healing.


Rather than offering a polished success story, the focus was on what recovery actually looks like over time. Messy. Relational. Rooted in community. Participants explored how experiences shape the nervous system and how learning to notice and respond to those patterns can support sustainable change.


The talk blended storytelling, reflection, and practical insight, helping participants connect personal experience to broader systems such as education, healthcare, and community support. Emphasis was placed on reducing stigma, increasing compassion, and understanding recovery as something that happens with people, not in isolation.
